Camp Cough No Mas debuted in the summer of 2009 as the only week long asthma camp for New Mexican youth. A total of twelve campers were able to experience this life changing activity and their families were able to see their children accomplishing things that they never thought they could. Camp Cough No Mas is staffed with extremely competent activities’ staff and a dedicated clinical staff that includes a pediatric pulmonologist, experienced nurses, and respiratory therapists with critical care backgrounds.
This year, through a partnership with the YMCA of Central New Mexico, Asthma Allies will host Camp Cough No Mas Day Camp in Albuquerque. Our goal is to allow 60 children with asthma to participate in an Olympic-themed activity camp while learning about asthma and increasing their asthma self-management skills. The camp will be held June 21-25.
On Saturday, May 1st at Seasons Rotisserie & Grill, Asthma Allies will be holding this year’s annual Camp Cough No Mas fundraising event, “Springtime in Tuscany”. This event will feature a silent auction. I hope we can count on your generous donation of gift certificates or gift baskets. However, any donation amount is greatly appreciated.
